A/Prof Schlicht graduated from the University of Melbourne. He has had a long professional relationship at St Vincent’s Hospital, having been a medical student at the Clinical school and completing his resident and specialist radiology registrar training at the Hospital. Following completion of his radiology training Stephen undertook RACP/RANZCR accredited advanced training in Nuclear Medicine at the Royal Melbourne and Alfred Hospitals.
Stephen joined the consultant Radiology staff in 1996 and has been Director of Nuclear Medicine at St Vincent’s Hospital since 1997. He has been a consultant radiologist and Nuclear Medicine specialist at St Vincent's Private Radiology since its inception in June 1998. He is the lead radiologist for the busy Soft Tissue and Bone Tumour service at St. Vincent’s and Peter MacCallum Hospitals and for the Victorian Bone Tumour Registry. His particular subspecialty interests include hybrid imaging - SPECT/CT and PET/CT and into the future PET/MR having recently spent his sabbatical at St Thomas’s Hospital in London looking at these techniques. A/Prof Stephen Schlicht was appointed Director of SVPR in December 2012.
